Unexpected events can lead to a rollover crash. These types of accidents are becoming more and more common with each passing year. Statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that almost 2 percent of yearly traffic accidents involve rollovers. In 2014, nearly 66 percent of roadway fatalities involved unrestrained occupants. Although most people think driving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) is safer, these large vehicles are more prone to rolling over in the event of a crash. 37 percent of deadly rollovers involve SUVs. Almost half of rollover crashes result in the death of a vehicle occupant. You may be able to pursue a recovery after a crash by working closely with a skilled legal team.
