Albuquerque, NM – Pedestrian Hurt in Crash at Atrisco Dr & La Bajada Rd

Albuquerque, NM (May 16, 2024) – On Tuesday, May 14, a pedestrian was critically injured after a traffic accident in the Albuquerque area. The incident took place at the corner of Atrisco Drive and La Bajada Road late that night around 6:30 p.m. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene. 

It was later revealed that a 17-year-old was traveling on foot when they were struck by an oncoming motor vehicle. The injured party was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital by ambulance for the treatment of critical injuries. The driver, later identified as Alan Castanon, was arrested by officials after the incident. He was charged with driving while intoxicated. No updates on the incident have been provided at this time.
