Dog Bite Injuries in New Mexico
Dog attacks can cause devastating physical and emotional trauma. Victims often face long-term pain, scarring, and psychological distress, especially after a severe attack involving the face or hands. In New Mexico, dog bite laws hold owners responsible when their animals injure others due to negligence or failure to control the pet.
Dog bite injuries can lead to:
- Deep puncture wounds or lacerations requiring stitches
- Infections or nerve damage
- Disfigurement and permanent scarring
- Emotional trauma and post-traumatic stress
Dog bite victims may be entitled to compensation under New Mexico personal injury law. This can include medical expenses, reconstructive surgery costs, lost wages, and emotional suffering. Working with a dog bite lawyer can help victims understand their legal options and pursue justice.
In addition to physical recovery, victims must be aware of the New Mexico statute of limitations and personal injury laws. Generally, individuals have a limited time to file a claim after an attack. Consulting an attorney ensures timely action and a strong legal strategy to protect victims’ rights.
