Vado, NM - Man Critically Hurt in Hit-&-Run on SR 478 near Franco Rd

Vado, NM (August 2, 2023) - A man suffered critical injuries after being involved in a hit-and-run accident outside of Vado on Monday, August 1. 

The accident was reported on State Route 478 near Franco Road at around 6 a.m. A man was hit by a vehicle on the roadway. The victim was later airlifted to a hospital in El Paso in critical condition. 

The at-fault driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured party. It is believed that the suspect vehicle was a Ford pickup truck or sport-utility vehicle. It may have a damaged headlight or front-end damage as a result of the crash.
