Speeding-related Crashes in New Mexico
Speeding drivers were responsible for 11,258 of the 38,824 fatal auto accidents that occurred in the United States in a recent year. In addition to making it more difficult to stop quickly, speeding reduces the efficiency of many safety measures on your vehicle. It should come as no surprise that drivers who speed are known to enhance the force of impact in the event of a collision, and speeding accounts for 29 percent of roadway fatalities. This translates to roughly one death every hour and nearly thirty deaths every day.
