Speeding-related Accidents in New Mexico
The speed involved in a collision can have a major effect on the resulting injuries and damages. In the United States, a large percentage of fatal collisions are caused by speeding drivers. Drivers who speed cause about 29 percent of all fatal auto accidents in the country. A total of 11,258 people lost their lives in crashes caused by speeding drivers in total last year. Like drunk driving, speeding is more of an issue in some states than others, and sadly, drivers in New Mexico historically have issues with both.
