Sunland Park, NM (February 29, 2024) - Early on Wednesday morning, February 28, there were confirmed injuries after a multi-vehicle accident in the Sunland Park area. The crash was reported at the intersection of McNutt Road and Pete Domenici Boulevard early that morning at around 8 a.m. Local reports indicated that a Sunland Park Police Department (SPPD) unit and two other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The SPPD officer and another person were transported to a local hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. The officer was later discharged, but no updates on the conditions of the involved parties have been provided. Two of the vehicles involved, including the patrol car, were significantly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
